Nebraska For Us statement as state gas prices cross $4 per gallon
“With gas prices soaring in recent weeks, drivers across the country have already decided to cut back on everyday expenses while they see no relief coming anytime soon. As of today, gas prices in Nebraska now stand at an average of $4.06 per gallon—putting us less than 75 cents away from the state’s all-time record. Commuting is not an option for working Nebraskans. Gas is up 35% in the last year for Nebraska drivers and just keeps going up.
“An unpopular and expensive war is directly to blame, and Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood have not used their positions of power to address these massive cost increases at a time when Nebraskans simply cannot afford them. In fact, they have voted for higher prices. Inflation is expected to keep rising as a result, and it is only a matter of time before higher fuel prices translate into even higher grocery prices. They need to focus on lowering these costs now!”
