Nebraska For Us calls on Congressman Don Bacon to oppose Senate-passed reconciliation bill

“The Senate version of this bill cuts more than $1 trillion from Medicaid—double the amount that Congressman Don Bacon once said was his ‘red line,’ on top of a series of other harmful cuts to SNAP benefits, cost lowering clean energy tax credits, and important projects that support our local economies.

“The Republican Tax Scam, as written, will take health care and food from working class and middle income Nebraskans and make the top 1% even richer. While he voted for most of these cuts in the original House version in May, Congressman Bacon has the opportunity to do the right thing when it matters most.

“His legacy is on the line. He can either stand with working Nebraskans or be remembered for helping pass a bill that rips away health care, food, and opportunities from the very people he should be helping.”
