Nebraska For Us statement as Nebraskans get first look at skyrocketing health insurance premiums

“Nebraska For Us has already heard from people who are seeing their 2026 health insurance premiums increase 25% or more—putting an even bigger strain on their already tight budgets. In some cases, the increases are even worse. We were promised lower prices at the start of 2025, but just about everything keeps going up from health care to food and tariffs.

“The Republican majority has had nearly a month of the government shutdown to permanently extend the expiring tax credits that are making insurance premiums increase significantly. Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood are not in Washington to address the problem, and the time for that to change is now. We cannot afford to wait any longer. Open enrollment begins in just three days.”
