Nebraska For Us statement as new tariff rule takes effect, directly raising costs for consumers and small businesses

“This new tariff rule is yet another example of Republicans raising prices and disrupting the supply chain—squeezing small businesses and consumers. It will result in higher costs that directly hurt all of us.

“Congressman Don Bacon has had multiple chances this year to stop tariffs and price hikes, but he voted with Nebraska’s entire federal delegation to allow them to continue raising prices. Talking about the pain of tariffs does not stop them—votes do.

“With the new tariff rule, everyday Nebraskans are left wondering how they can get ahead when everything keeps getting more expensive. It’s time to stop tariffs that are raising prices for working class and middle income Nebraskans who are just trying to pay their bills!”
