Nebraska For Us statement as tariffs are argued before Supreme Court

“Time and time again, Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood have voted for tariffs. That means consumers are paying even more for groceries, clothes, and everyday essentials, and now it is up to the Supreme Court to decide whether these harmful and chaotic price hikes can remain in place.

“Working class and middle income Nebraskans are struggling to get by, and the cost of goods rising for Nebraskans will only make the problem worse. Our state’s federal delegation has continued to support tariffs by voting for them to continue, getting us to where we are today. We have been promised lower prices for months and gotten the exact opposite. That dynamic needs to change.”

-State Director Angie Lauritsen

“Small businesses like mine have been treading water—struggling to manage rising costs while trying to keep our own prices fair. Businesses are hurting, workers are hurting, and customers are hurting. We need relief, and we need it now. Especially as our neighbors and friends pull back on spending. Our economy cannot afford these tariffs to continue.”

-Gladys Harrison, Omaha Small Business Owner
