Nebraska For Us statement as further health care cuts are considered for war funding

“Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood already spent 2025 dramatically cutting access to health care and raising costs, from Medicaid to ACA Marketplace insurance premiums. The last thing we should be doing is cutting health care even further for hardworking Nebraskans and instead using those funds to finance a war that is actively raising our costs at the gas pump and grocery store.

“Nebraska’s federal delegation needs to get back to Washington and bring down stubbornly high prices that only continue going up. Inflation is rising once again, and our leaders are not delivering the relief we desperately need.”

-State Director Angie Lauritsen

“Every year, I pay more and get less when it comes to health care. Now we are talking about cutting it even further while families are already struggling to afford gas, groceries, and basic care. How is this helping working Americans? It is not. It is hurting us. The people making these decisions are not the ones choosing between medicine and rent—we are. Our leaders should be lowering costs, not shifting the burden onto the very people who can least afford it.”

-Gladys, Omaha Small Business Owner
