Nebraska For Us statement as inflation report shows more price hikes, Bacon continues criticizing tariffs he protected

“With today’s inflation report, we are seeing tariffs increase prices across the board. At the start of 2025, Nebraskans were promised lower prices by Congressman Don Bacon. Throughout the year, we have seen uncertainty, price hikes, a weakening job market, and overall confusion. Still, this latest report has yet to include August tariffs.

“There are already signs of inflation beginning to appear in our economy with direct tariff ties, making a bad problem that much worse for anxious consumers who will be the ones paying for them. A staggering 86% of Americans say the price of groceries is a source of stress in their lives, according to a recent poll.

“Congressman Bacon continues to speak publicly about the harms of tariffs. Time and time again, however, he has voted with fellow House Republicans to support tariffs that are increasing prices for consumers and hurting our farmers who export their crops. He has turned his back on hardworking Nebraskans, and it needs to change.”
