Nebraska For Us statement as state diesel price passes $6 mark

“Diesel is up a whopping 78% in Nebraska compared to this time last year. From farmers to truck drivers, this price hike will translate to other goods and services in the coming months. It is a moment where it feels like the wheels are falling off an unpleasant ride.

“While Nebraska’s federal delegation has voted multiple times—including this week—to allow the Iran War to continue unchecked, the Congressional Budget Office now says a solid chunk of the inflation we are experiencing today is directly related to the conflict and will lead to more price increases in 2027.

“Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood have voted to continue the war, and now the rest of us are left to pay the consequences and the soaring costs.”

-State Director Angie Lauritsen
