Nebraska For Us statement responding to Congressman Don Bacon’s continued support of Medicaid cuts

“Congressman Don Bacon promised not to cut Medicaid, but he cast the deciding vote last month for the largest cut in the program’s 60-year history. Now that the Republican Tax Scam is with the Senate, he once again has signed onto a letter claiming that he wants to protect Medicaid. He wants it both ways, but his voting record on this issue is clear. He supports cutting healthcare for more than 74,000 Nebraskans. Tuesday’s letter does not change that.

“It is wrong to cut Nebraskans’ health care just to pay for massive tax breaks for the top 1%. The American people know that, and it is time for Congressman Bacon and his Republican colleagues to recognize that, too.”
