Nebraska For Us statement on Supreme Court decision striking down most tariffs

“While this decision ruling against the majority of massive price hikes is welcome news, we remain frustrated that Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood voted time and time again in favor of allowing these tariffs to remain in place. While Rep. Bacon has recently changed his tune by voting against tariffs earlier this month, it comes one year too late.

“The cost increases have created uncertainty, fear, and harm for businesses and consumers while the state’s farmers have been struggling to stay afloat. In fact, Congressman Bacon blamed tariffs for putting Nebraska in a ‘recession economy.’

“Working class Nebraskans need relief from high prices, and the inflation that continues to put the strain on all of us has only made the problem worse. Congressional Republicans should have done something about this months ago. Now, we are left to pick up the pieces as the economic challenges remain.”
