Nebraska For Us statement as House declines enforcing War Powers Act

With this afternoon’s vote, Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood have voted to continue a war that is continuing to drive up the price of gas and groceries. To add insult to injury, the president was on record this week saying he does not ‘think about’ the finances of struggling Americans.

“The war ha
s caused Nebraskans to pay nearly 40% more for gas compared to this time last year, and Republican lawmakers appear to be ignoring or minimizing the pain. And now, groceries are rising at their fastest pace in nearly four years. Nebraska’s federal leaders need to adjust their priorities and focus on lowering costs. As it stands now, prices will only continue to rise following years of empty promises of lowering them. This needs to change.”
