Nebraska For Us statement as House fails to advance amendment that threatened vital economic programs

As new reports show costs continuing to rise faster than expected, Nebraska’s federal delegation and House Republicans voted for an amendment that could have led to more cuts to SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and several other programs. It was the wrong move by Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood.

“Working class Nebraskans would bear the brunt of these cuts, just as they have before, while the ultra-wealthy receive massive tax cuts. Nebraskans are paying nearly 30% higher gas prices than they were just a month ago, and other prices continue to rise. We need votes that make life more affordable, not more expensive.”
