Nebraska For Us statement on CBO score showing more than 15 million losing health care due to Bacon-supported Republican Tax Law

“New evidence from the Congressional Budget Office shows that more than 15 million Americans will lose their coverage thanks to the GOP Tax Law. All the while, insurance premiums are going up.

“Recent estimates have shown this will impact tens of thousands of Nebraskans who rely on Medicaid for lifesaving care and close the hospitals and clinics that provide that care. Prices continue to rise month after month for goods across the spectrum—especially as tariffs threaten to increase the cost of prescription drugs. Looming tariffs will only make that problem worse for people who need relief now.

“While we wait for state-specific data, one thing is clear: Congressman Don Bacon voted to rip health care coverage away from Nebraskans who desperately need it. He chose to protect the ultra-wealthy with a tax break on the backs of our working class and middle income neighbors.”
