Nebraska For Us statement as House Republicans allow harmful health care cuts to continue amid government funding battle

“Once again, Congressman Don Bacon is choosing health care cuts and higher costs instead of reversing dramatic cuts to Medicaid—voting for a plan today that will keep us barreling toward devastating cuts to rural health care and higher insurance premiums.

“This course of action was not the only option. There is an alternative proposal that would reverse cuts while keeping the government funded, Rep. Bacon and our entire federal delegation should support it.

“Republicans’ cuts to Medicaid and SNAP to pay for tax breaks for the ultra wealthy raise health care and food costs for working people, and they need to be reversed.”
