Nebraska For Us statement as state gas prices hit $4—again

“For the second time in three months, Nebraskans are paying an average of $4 per gallon of gas. Drivers are paying about 30% more compared to the same time last year. That is on top of other rising necessities like groceries, insurance, health care, and many other expenses. It is time for Congressmen Don Bacon and Mike Flood—our area’s representatives—to focus on solutions that lower these prices rather than allowing them to continue rising.

“The deeply unpopular war in Iran is forcing us to pay more at the pump while cuts to SNAP and Medicaid lead to more pain for hardworking Nebraskans. We were promised lower prices on day one of the Trump Administration, and we have yet to see any evidence of it.”

-State Director Angie Lauritsen
