Nebraska For Us statement as tariff threats continue despite Supreme Court ruling

“Despite the Supreme Court’s ruling, President Trump continues to propose hefty tariffs and price increases that fall on the backs of working class Nebraskans who are struggling to make ends meet in this challenging economy. Goods keep getting more expensive, and Nebraska’s federal delegation is not acting appropriately to stop this in its tracks.

“Congressman Don Bacon continues expressing statements about how tariff authority is under the control of Congress, but his lack of action until now has allowed this problem to go on far longer than it should have. It is time for Nebraska’s full federal delegation to vote in favor of stopping these tariffs once and for all. We call on the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans to give the American people their money back.

“Recent polling shows 70% of Americans believe tariff policies have driven prices up while more than 60% said the Supreme Court made the right move in last Friday’s ruling. Tariffs are deeply unpopular, which is why we urge Nebraska’s lawmakers to act accordingly and reflect what the people are saying. We need relief now!”
