Nebraska For Us statement calling on Congressman Don Bacon to vote against Medicaid, SNAP cuts

“Despite prior commitments to protect key programs, Congressman Don Bacon plans to turn his back on his constituents and support sweeping cuts to Medicaid and food stamps just to pay for more massive tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. Bacon even claimed that the enormous Medicaid cuts that would kick more than 10 million people, including seniors, children, and veterans off of their health care were his suggestions.

“Nebraskans just want to be able to afford health care and put food on the table for their families. Instead of voting to raise costs and take away the tools we use to live a good life, Rep. Bacon still has the opportunity to reverse course and vote against the biggest cuts in history to Medicaid and SNAP just to pay for more massive tax breaks for the top earners.”
